Peter Maly's designs for the fireplace date from 1997 when Johannes
Wagner began to form the Conmoto company. A lack of a good pair of tongs
with which to grasp wood was the starting point to designing his
award-winning tool sets of stainless steel and full grain natural
hilt-wrapped leather (IF, Good Design, #Form and Design Plus awards).
The fireplace screen base in stainless steel is sold with a piece of
heat-resistant glass or separately without glass, to allow custom sizing
of the screen.

Founded only ten years ago, Conmoto has become
